For more than 80 years, H & R Schwarz has been a trusted supplier to the Australian food industry.
Established in 1934, H & R Schwarz commenced trading as a manufacturer of butchers’ uniforms. Through the years, the company continually developed and enhanced its range to include spices, seasonings and curing agents as it evolved into becoming a general supplier to Butchers and Smallgoods Manufacturers.
Schwarz has always been an innovator and early adopter of new trends. During the 1960s and 70s we flourished as a major supplier to the meat sector. New style products such as sausage premixes, batter mixes and marinades were successfully introduced into the market whilst the general product range was expanded to include a complete range of packaging and food processing equipment.
Today, Schwarz continues as a 100% Australian family owned company, operated by the third generation. Whilst retaining the core range of products, the company has further expanded to supply the poultry and seafood industries as well as general food producers and catering companies. Schwarz also offers consultancy services and contract blending facilities.
As we move towards our 10th decade of service, H & R Schwarz continues to adapt its range and services to meet the challenges of today and the future.
Recently we have grown the company into two key divisions – traditional butcher supply and specialist ingredients.
